10 Heatwave-Proof Recipes That Don't Require a Stove or Oven

10 Heatwave-Proof Recipes That Don't Require a Stove or Oven

In this blog, you'll find a list of quick and light dishes that are perfect for making when it's extremely hot. These recipes don't require a stove, so you can keep your home nice and cool.

By the way, I don’t mind the warm temperatures at all. I’ve been back from Portugal for just under two weeks now, and I was already missing the fantastic weather and the lovely people I’d met so much. The fact that the sun is shining in Belgium now, too, makes the harsh reality just a little bit easier to bear for me. By the way, I haven’t really been sitting still since I got back. Last week I went to Bruges to defend my thesis. I was really nervous because I’d worked so hard on this project and put my whole heart and soul into it. And the perfectionist in me wanted this presentation to be the best it possibly could be. 😉 I succeeded very well in that. I received the highest distinction for my work. A week later, I also got my grades for my other courses. I’m proud to tell you that my diploma will include a distinction.🤩 Meanwhile, I’m busy preparing for a wedding catering job, for which I’m personalizing a cake for the bride and groom. And I’m also making a few improvements to the website so that in the future we can reach even more people with my mission to make cooking with vegetables fun. For example, have you noticed that the site is now available in English as well? You can change the language using the button at the top.

Alright, these are the dishes I've already planned to make myself this week. Enjoy!

1. Summer Salad

This salad is perfect for this lovely summer weather. It doesn't require an oven, and you don't have to put a pan on the stove. With a short list of ingredients and a little love, you can serve up a delicious meal.

2. Summer sandwiches with arugula, strawberries, and goat cheese

This is one of my favorites for a quick, delicious lunch.

3. Salad with Pear and Feta Cheese

This was one of the first recipes I posted on my blog when I launched it 5 years ago. I haven't made this salad very often since then, which is a real shame because it's truly delicious.

4. Wrap with salmon, pickles, and sun-dried tomatoes

A surprising combination, but absolutely delicious.

5. Lunch Salad in 12 Minutes

Nectarines, artichokes, and tomatoes… This salad brings you the best of summer in one dish. It’s one I make myself quite often.

6. Wrap with Grapes and Chicory

A somewhat unexpected combination of ingredients comes together here to create a super refreshing dish. Don't hesitate—just go for it!

7. Quick Salad with Watermelon, Arugula, and Halloumi

Anything with watermelon instantly makes me feel like it's summer. This salad isn't just refreshing—it's also deliciously light.

8. Quick Salad with 6 Ingredients

A quick lunch, a moment of peace, and the chance to savor the pure flavors of the ingredients—that's what I have in store for you.

9. Fresh Egg Salad

This is a twist on the classic recipe—and it also makes for a quick and easy lunch.

10. Surprising lettuce boats

This can also be a really great appetizer in a smaller size.
