If you've ever hesitated to start doing something that makes your heart race…
This week marks the 4th anniversary of Zoë’s Healthy Life. I started this food blog when I was 16. I’m 20 now, and in this series, I’m sharing the 4 life lessons I’ve learned over the past 4 years of blogging. This is lesson 1.

All the important things are scary
I learned this valuable lesson early on when I first had the idea to start writing about my passion for cooking with vegetables.
Big projects or dreams can sometimes feel so intimidating. You know what the first step is, but you also know that you’ll probably have to cover several kilometers to get where you want to be. You’re not sure of the exact route for those upcoming kilometers because you’re heading to a place you’ve never been before. And that’s… a little scary.

All the courage you need is already within you
So many times, I’ve started a project with a bit of trepidation—one I genuinely believe has the potential to turn out great and that means a lot to me. The line between being extremely enthusiastic and simply feeling sick with nerves is very thin, and I recognize that feeling of no longer being able to clearly distinguish between the two. By now, I can tell you with certainty that that fear is totally worth it and is simply confirmation that you’ve been given the chance to do something you want to devote yourself to with all your heart and soul.
So here, I’d like to share with you the number-one life lesson I’ve learned from four years of blogging, which has led to all kinds of amazing projects.
You don't have to wait until you feel brave enough. You don't even have to feel brave—you just have to do it.
P.S. Four years ago, I did a photo shoot to have some pictures of myself when I launched my blog. I’ve tried to recreate that photo shoot. Every day this week through August 1, I’ll share one of these photos along with a life lesson I’ve learned through this project.
