Appetizers for the Holidays

Appetizers for the Holidays

The holidays are just around the corner, and this is the time of year when many people head into the kitchen and roll up their sleeves to spoil their loved ones with a delicious meal. We’re therefore all the more proud to say that we made the main course and dessert for our Christmas menu ourselves. The appetizers and aperitifs, on the other hand, we quickly picked up from the store. As long as they taste good, that’s obviously no problem. But, as you can imagine, appetizers that are made personally and with love do taste just that little bit better. So here, I’m sharing not one, but two recipes you can try this holiday season. Both are super delicious and have a rich flavor profile. Plus, they’re quick and easy to make. That way, you’ll definitely have plenty of time left to sit with your guests and accept their compliments on your holiday menu. 😉

Ingredients:

  • Half a jar of sun-dried tomatoes (90 g)
  • 4 tbsp oil from the sun-dried tomatoes (or you can use good-quality olive oil instead)

  • 3 tbsp nutritional yeast (or grated Parmesan cheese)
  • 4 sprigs of fresh basil
  • 2 sprigs of oregano
  • Juice of ½ lemon
  • Salt and pepper

Preparation: (10 minutes)

  1. Put half the jar of sun-dried tomatoes in the blender.
  2. Add 4 tablespoons of oil from the sun-dried tomatoes.
  3. Remove the hard inner core from the garlic clove.
  4. Add the ginger and garlic.
  5. Add the basil and oregano leaves.
  6. Add the lemon juice and some salt and pepper.
  7. Blend everything until smooth.
  8. Spread the pesto on your toast.

Enjoy your meal!
